Experience
Route choice, not fitness, decides most summits
Kilimanjaro is a walk, not a climb. What it demands is altitude adaptation and the discipline to go slowly — and the route you pick decides how much of both you get.
Why we do not sell six-day Machame
The seven-day version adds a night at altitude before summit night. Success rates rise sharply with it. Selling the six-day at a lower price and a much lower summit rate is common and we will not do it.
Choosing between the routes
Lemosho over eight days has the best acclimatisation profile and the highest success. Machame over seven is the best value. Marangu has huts and beds and the lowest success of the three — worth taking only if a bed genuinely matters more than the summit.
The crews
Porter loads and wages follow KPAP guidelines. Ask any operator for their specifics before you book; if they will not tell you, that is the answer.
