Most three-day trips sold from Arusha never leave Tarangire and Manyara. This one drives through to the Serengeti on day one, which is a long morning, and buys you a full uninterrupted day of game driving in exchange.

Arusha to Serengeti
Leave Arusha early and drive the Ngorongoro highlands, descending onto the plains in the afternoon. Game drive into camp as the light drops.
Full day, Serengeti
The whole day in the park with a packed lunch. Morning and late afternoon are when the cats move; the middle of the day is for shade, and so is the plan.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Descend into the crater after breakfast for a half-day game drive on the floor, climb out at lunch and reach Arusha by evening.

Is three days long enough for the Serengeti?
It is long enough to see it properly once. It is not long enough to follow the migration, which needs the flexibility to move camp. If the migration is the reason you are coming, start at six days.
How much of this is driving?
Day one is roughly seven hours with stops, day three about six. Day two has no transit at all. That is the trade this itinerary makes.
